District Simplified Grants

District Simplified Grants are financial awards made by the district to clubs for their use in humanitarian projects for local use (Community Grant) or in support of extra-national projects not covered by World Community Service funding (International Grant).

• DSG applications for the 2007-2008 year may be submitted between May 15 and August 17, 2007. Early submission is advised as applications must sometimes be returned for corrections or additions and only those received as complete and correct by the closing date can be considered. Applications must be submitted on the TRF approved form and in the space provided. Only the required budget and, where appropriate, cooperating organization letters may be appended. All required forms (application and reporting) are downloadable and listed below.
• DSG applications received from clubs that are in arrears on either their RI dues or their District 5110 dues will not be considered. Both district and RI dues must be paid in full by August 1, 2007, in order to qualify for DSG application consideration. Please insure that proof of payment is available if requested by the DSG Committee.

THE DISTRICT SIMPLIFIED GRANT (DSG) was adopted by The Rotary Foundation Trustees to provide an easier access to Foundation funds and increased opportunities for Rotarians to use District Designated Funds (DDF) to undertake projects in their own communities or within their nations as well as projects in other countries. The projects should serve as a means of enhancing the community and/or improving the lives of the less fortunate where Rotary clubs and districts are present.
