Camp RYLA is a 6-day leadership camp for high school students who have a strong desire to make their school or community a better place.

The camp teaches leadership skills while instilling the Rotary ideal of high ethical standards. It inspires young people to create and carry out projects that exemplify Service Above Self. RYLA also introduces them to exciting opportunities through other Rotary youth programs.

Camp RYLA seeks students with leadership potential, not necessarily proven leadership skills. Ideal RYLA candidates have the creativity and capacity to think outside the box, and the courage to step out of their “comfort zone” in facing challenges. The week is designed to be fun for all participants, but students should come to camp expecting to work hard, not just play.

Only current high school sophomores may apply, in other words, students who will be juniors in the fall. About 120 students, both boys and girls, will participate.

Cost of the camp is paid entirely by the sponsoring Rotary clubs, who recruit and select the campers. There is no cost to the campers or their parents. Interested students should contact their local Rotary club, high school counselor or leadership teacher.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 19. The number of campers is limited by the camp facilities. There is no guarantee that space will still be available for late-registering students.
