An open letter to Rotary Head Start Project Volunteers:

Thank you very much for all of the work that was accomplished Saturday at the Head Start building, Fairfield School.

In about a four and one half hour time period you completed the construction of a performance deck; two raised bed planters, filled with soil; one very large sand box, complete with sand; one six foot long bench; assembly of two trellises. You assisted with the planting of shrubs and spread more gravel and fertilizer than anyone expected; Head Start very much appreciates all that you accomplished.

Volunteers participated from Southtowne Rotary along with spouses. Head Start had volunteers and we enjoyed working with Mark Peeters and his landscape crew. Lonnie King gathered materials and planned out the deck though unable to be on site. All in all, I believe this was a successful day.

From what I could tell, no one got hurt but some may have been a bit stiff and slept well Saturday night. I hope all of you had fun, I know I did.
