Career Day - Update
The Mon. Oct. 5 Career Day at Etna High School will have three 30-min. sessions begining at 8:30am and ending at 10:25 with a 15 min. break starting at 9am.
I could use 3-4 Rotarians to make a presence and help direct the presenters to their rooms. Also would like Doug to do an article/press release for the newspapers.
Most of the program is coming together quite nicely and I have had good response from presenters in the area.
The EHS Culinary Class will cater breakfast; Individual quiches, fruit, muffins, coffee and juice from 0800-0930. The class will use the money for a trip to visit a culinary school.. SV Rotary will pick up the tab.
Please set aside some time to help on this project.
Randy Eastlick, Vocational Service Chair

Interact News

SLIGHTLY USED ATHLETIC SHOES can be dropped off @ Martin's Experienced Items in Etna, at the High School and Ray's Market in Fort Jones.

We had a great time preparing the pole on Saturday! Mike Theo, Lisa, John Michael, Josh, Jim Baker, Bill, Vinnie, Doug, Dick, Jet & Hannah Travis, Interacters Emma & Haley & Dave Burgess (USFS) scraped, sanded, picked chips out of cracks, and blew dust and finally got two coats of primer on the pole! It's ready for paint. We'll be painting the final coats on Wednesday and Friday from 1000-1130. Scott River High students will help. The ball is getting prepped for a gold leaf and will all will be ready for erection next week! Great job club members! Service above self! YEA

Suzie Green will paint a mural on the base depicting Buddy & honoring our Vets!

Documentary will be on Pioneer Press Live Tues Night!

This is a cool project and the City of Etna has agreed to dedicate the pole to WWII Bataan Death March Survivor, Past SV Rotarian and Etna native, Ed "Buddy" Buchner his family, city fireman and all those who served as Veterans over the years. Dedication is planned for Veterans Day, Nov 11 with the addition of a POW-MIA Flag below Old Glory!
