Greetings from the officers and members of the Rotary Club of Albany.
Chartered on April 12, 1928 we are 75 Rotarians working with youth, helping our community and playing an active part in International and World Community Service. I invite you to take some time to visit our web site and learn more about us.
We are an older club with a new vision for providing service above self. And we have fun doing it. Incoming Rotary International President Wilfrid Wilkinson of Canada selected "Rotary Shares" as the theme for this year. He points out that almost everything Rotary does involves sharing. "We share our time, we share our talents, and we share our money with those who need our help."
When I try to put the Rotary message into words that have resonated with me through the years, two thoughts come to mind. The first is "To whom much is given much is asked." We have been given so much and Rotary provides the perfect opportunity to give back. The second expression is "It is through giving that you get." There is a lot of satisfaction that comes from helping others.
Doris Johnston, 2009-2010 President
Service Above Self
In all we do, the 4-Way Test is applied:
- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair to all concerned?
- Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
- Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Meetings are every Tuesday at Noon
