This is a District 5110 project to refurbish, resupply and place into operation a late model German built Mecedes Benz Dental Van currently in Honduras. The Dental Van is currently owned by the Honduran Fire Service and contains a dental chair, examination light, suction unit, a tool station with an air compressor, a 220 volt gasoline electriv generator, multiple storage compartments and a small amount of supplies. The goal of this refurbished Dental Van project is to take this van to poor villages throughout Honduras and provide regular dental service to thousands of poor needy children; with the Dental van operated by volunteer dentists providing dental service ten months of the year.

This project will be obtained by utilizing international funds from five District 5110 club and District 5110, in partnership with the Trujilo Rotary Club assisted by the Tocoa, Rotary Club in District 4250; to refurbish and resupply a late model Mercedes Benz dental van currently in Honduras and owned and operated by the Honduran Fire Service. The Honduran Fire Service and International Fire Service Organization will purchase the dental van refurbishing and resupply dental tooth repair and maintenance equipment, in close cooperation with the Trujillo Rotary Club. The Honduran Fire Service will own and operate the dental van and dental equipment. Rotary identification will be prominently displayed on the side of the Dental van and larger dental equipment.

It is a very worthwhile Rotary humanitarian combined project, much deserving of International Rotarian support as it will literally benefit and provide much needed basic dental services to thousands of poor needy Hondurans.
