Rotarians at Work - Saturday Morning

February 2011

Here's an opportunity to be of service at the conference on Saturday morning.

Breakfast will be served from 7:00am to 8:45am. Eat early then join the "Rotarians at Work" from 7:30am to 7:45am to see and hear about how the Share Bear Snack Pack Program helps feed hungry children in our local area.

You can volunteer from 7:45am to 8:45am in the Salmon Room preparing informational paperwork to go in each of the snack packs while listening to some wonderful local entertainment. Wear your "Rotarians at Work" tee shirt!

The snack packs contain juice boxes, granola bars, pudding, fruit leathers, crackers, oatmeal, cereal, and Slim Jims to be sent home with children in Coos, Western Douglas and Curry Counties who are on the free and reduced lunch program.

The need is great, but funding limits the Share Bear Snack Pack Program to 50 students at each of 10 schools. This program ensures children get the extra calories they need, and helps tide them over on weekends and school holidays. This prep work, performed by willing volunteers, keeps this program successful.

And from the sale of every Rotary District Conference tee-shirt, $5 will be donated to support this worthwhile cause, so please consider purchasing one for you and a friend.

SHARE BEAR SNACK PACK PROGRAM IS AN OREGON COAST COMMUNUTY ACTION (ORCCA) PROGRAM.
