DG Dell Gray (2012-13)

Born in Rochester, NY on March 20, 1945, Dell was raised as an Army brat and lived in many places as his father, a physician, was reassigned. When his father separated from the Army the family settled in Redding, California where Dell graduated from Enterprise High school. He spent a year at Menlo College, after which he enlisted in the Army. Dell attended infantry officer candidate school and served as platoon leader and company commander in Vietnam and Korea. He returned to Menlo College and earned a BS in Business in 1971 and attended Santa Clara University Graduate School of Business.
Dell’s first job out of school was for a small medical group in Stockton, California. While there, he met the love of his life, Shell. They have three children and three grandchildren. Dell has been a healthcare executive for over 35 years, and retired in 2011. Dell has been an active Rotarian for over 32 years. He has served on many club committees, the board, and in 2003‐2004 as club president. He graduated from the Leadership Academy in 2005; was an Assistant Governor in 2005‐2006, and again in 2010‐2011. In 2008‐2009 Dell was selected to lead the GSE team to the Philippines. Dell is a supporter of The Rotary Foundation as an eight time Paul Harris Fellow and a Bequest Society member. In his spare time, Dell likes to travel and fish, but most of all he enjoys spending time with his family.
