2009 Outbound Team Update
On September 6, 2008 the District Group Study Exchange Committee chose the team members for the 2009 outbound teams to India and the Philippines. Four people were chosen for the travel teams to each country, as well as two alternates for each team. The team to India departs on January 25, 2009, so they hope to have their first meeting on Sunday. The team to the Philippines will travel in April and May of 2009.
The 2009 team to India, lead by Tom English with Susan Saladoff as alternate, follows:
- Craig Carnagey, a Parks and Facilities manager for the City of Albany.
- Amanda Ferguson, a City Planner for Cottage Grove.
- Carmen Michael Matthews, Regional Manager for Dutch Brothers Coffee, musician and President of the Board of the Oregon Coast Music Association.
- Kate Wilkinson, an attorney from Eugene.
- Alternate Angela Weaver, a Social Worker from Medford.
- Alternate Catherine Meissner, a Special Education Teacher from Eugene.
The 2009 team to the Philippines, lead by Dell Gray with Dick Wold as alternate, follows:
- Sarah Chapman, a Social Worker from Eugene.
- Jenny Jackson, a Teacher and Faculty Advisor of Student Government at Rogue Community College in Grants Pass.
- Brigid Turner, a Deputy District Attorney in Crook County who lives in Bend.
- Marc Zollinger, Owner of a Translation business who is also employed at Oregon Research Institute in Eugene.
- Alternate Nikki Olsen, Safety Manager at the Deschutes Brewery in Bend.
- Alternate Heather Craig, Accounting Controller for the Addictions Recover Center in Medford.
Inbound Team 2008 - Oregon/California

The GSE Team from Argentina arrival.

Enrique, Alberto, Osvaldo, Judith, Soledad The inbound GSE team from Argentina arrived on schedule and were warmly greeted by Rotarians from seven of the local area Rotary clubs. The handshakes and kisses on the cheek were immediately followed by hugs, as all members of the team expressed their warmth and excitement to be here. Fifteen Rotarians and family members shared lunch with the team at the home of GSE Chair Chris Duncan, and Ralph Lafferty did the honor of presenting each team member with the Rotary Foundation pin given to all team members.
The team headed up the McKenzie River to the home of Doug Bales for a weekend of relaxation before their busy schedule began. Read More on the Team Blog
