A CELEBRATION IN MUSIC WEEKEND - KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON

CONCERT ON THE GREEN - FRIDAY NIGHT August 15, 5:30 TO 7:30 P.M. at RUNNING Y featuring THE MIXERS, Boogie Swing Blues Band. For this year’s festival Rotary is coordinating with the Running Y Ranch Resort to add more music and fun. Friday’s event is free and there will be food and beer available to purchase.

BRATS, BREWS AND BLUES FESTIVAL - SATURDAY August 16, 3:00 TO 8:00 P.M. at Klamath Yacht Club on the BEAUTIFUL KLAMATH LAKE at 2700 Front Street, Klamath Falls, Oregon.

On Saturday August 16, The Klamath Basin Sunrise Rotary Club celebrates this EXTRAVAGANZA to raise funds for Klamath Hospice’s Camp Evergreen – a Bereavement Camp for Children. With the encouragement of Doctors Saul Silverman and Byron Sagunsky (now both passed away), our Club joined in the support for children who have lost loved ones to death. These children, 8 years to 18 years old, often never receive professional counseling due to expense or lack of family participation. At Camp Evergreen each child is able to learn to talk about their pain with peers and counselors and spend a week of counseling, fun and laughter AT NO COST ... A WEEK ALL ABOUT THEM. The camp started 7 years ago with 10 campers and in 2006 there were 40 children in need of learning to communicate their personal losses.

The day includes lots of music and fun. Hailing from Klamath Falls are the well known bands Stone Age Blues Band with Rod Norris, Close to the Bone, Butt Band with Todd Kellstrom and Soul'd Out. Adding to our locals will be Broadway Phil and the Shouters from Grants Pass. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS ONE OF THESE BANDS.

The cost for the day is a $25 donation and includes a Bratwurst dinner with German potato salad, Kraut and trimmings. We feature great food, locally brewed beers from MIAs AND PIAs PIZZERIA AND BREWHOUSE, along with KLAMATH BASIN BREWING COMPANY at the CREAMERY offering several samples of their favorite beers and an afternoon of rhythm, blues and classic rock for an EXCITING MUSICAL EXPERIENCE.

Tickets are available at Klamath Hospice, Holliday Jewelry in the Jefferson Square Mall, Real Estate Unlimited, Mias and Pias, the Creamery and at the gate.

THIS IS A GREAT PRICE TO SUPPORT ROTARY and KLAMATH HOSPICE and "GET AWAY" on a BEAUTIFUL SUNNY AFTERNOON, LISTENING TO SOME GREAT MUSIC on the shore of KLAMATH LAKE, EATING A BRATWURST and SIPPING a BREW WITH FRIENDS.

Running Y is also providing a special $119 weekend rate to stay overnight so you can enjoy both the Concert on the Green and the “BB&B festival”.
